Power of Dreams - Honda Luxline 160i SE

Honda Luxline V-tec 160i

This was the second car I customized personally. Unfortunately it had an electronic problem which left a few auto electricians flabbergasted, and therefore I sold her before finishing the job.

The spec on this car was:

Model:

1992 Model
160i

Engine:

D16A8 modded engine.
Larger Forged Pistons.
Stainless steel Valves.
Modified/Gasflowed Cylinder head.
Modified intake manifold.
Wildcat branches.
Knive-edged crank.
Billet cam - modified.
62mm mildsteel freeflow.
HUGE F1X Bullet performance box.

Exterior Modifications:

Shaved bonnet.
Shaved fenders.
Shaved doors (just the beading)
Shaved boot.
Modified bumpers.
Huge dent next to the fuel cap (thanks to my baby brother; Meinhart) filled with bodyputty.
Custom lime/gold flipped paint.

Wheels:

Nothing fancy to mention here.
3x Multispoke 16" Alpines & 1x biscuit spare.

Interior Modifications:

None. Standard grey leather interior untouched.

ICE:

NO ICE - Yes, that's right - nadda, zultch, zero.

Awards:

Sadly..none..

Plans:

My dad helped me with this project. It took us weeks to sand the doors down after I decided to strip the beading off (kak idea, but it looks good).

I learned a lot while working on this car, I bumped my head, banged my hands with hammers and spanners, spray-painted my shoes and wasted a whole lot of paint and money (study fees - nothing is free).

Somehow my dad thought it's a great idea to spray the flip color and see if there's any imperfections afterwards - DON'T EVER DO THIS. Specially when the paint costs R750/liter.

The engine part left me in tears a few times and I learnt to swear like only a sailor can. I learnt to keep track of the changes I make, and also learnt to take photos as I go - in case you need to retrace your steps.

Pretty car, wish I never let her go...

P.S:  Honda spares are VERY expensive.
